Pediatric Cardiology and ArrhythmiaTsugutoshi Suzuki
Representative Director, Japanese Society of Pediatric Electrocardiology · since April 1, 2025
Greeting from the Representative Director
I am Tsugutoshi Suzuki of the Department of Pediatric Cardiology and Arrhythmia, Osaka City General Hospital. I was appointed Representative Director of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Electrocardiology on April 1, 2025.
Since the study group became a society in 2013, the role of Representative Director has been held by Dr. Naokata Sumitomo, Dr. Hitoshi Horigome and Dr. Mari Iwamoto. I feel the weight of the responsibility of succeeding them.
I work every day on catheter ablation for arrhythmias in children. I entered this field in 2003, and since then I have attended this society's meetings continuously and have learned a great deal from them. I still vividly remember attending the study group meetings held at the Eisai head office in Tokyo. After I became a board member at the annual meeting Dr. Yoshinaga hosted in Kagoshima in 2006, I was fortunate to learn how the society and its meetings are run from my seniors.
My specialty is catheter ablation, but pediatric electrocardiology covers a wide range of fields, including device therapy, channelopathies and school heart screening. Each of them is directly linked to protecting the lives of children and plays an important role in pediatric care. I will do my best to help improve the quality of care in these fields and to contribute to the development of pediatric electrocardiology.
I look forward to your continued support.
